Anderson Safety Net Council

The Anderson Safety Net Council is a diverse, dedicated group of community partners. They collaborate monthly to address complex local situations. They serve as a vital resource for individuals and families in need, working tirelessly as volunteers, resources, assistants, support, and advocates. Through strategic collaboration and coordinated efforts, the council aims to enhance Anderson County’s existing safety net – so no one falls through the gaps.

Community Health Needs Assessment

In spring 2012, AnMed began implementing a community health needs assessment for Anderson County. The assessment focused on community health needs, local health resources, barriers to care, gaps in service, and trends surrounding healthy lifestyles. The results were evaluated to identify key health needs within the community and take action to solve the issues – better serving vulnerable populations in Anderson County and supporting each resident’s personal wellness journey.

LiveWell Anderson (Healthy People, Healthy Carolinas)

Launched by The Duke Endowment in 2015, this initiative helps communities address chronic health issues including obesity, diabetes, and heart disease through the ‘healthy eating, active living model’.

Healthy People, Healthy Carolinas directs resources to communities with sizable health needs and the proven ability to take on local challenges while supporting their residents. Local groups can then promote health through programs, policies, and environmental changes within their own communities.

Heart to HeartAccessHealth Anderson

In partnership with the South Carolina Department of Public Health Division of Diabetes and Heart Disease Management and Prevention, AccessHealth Anderson provides support to individuals with unmanaged high blood pressure.

Many South Carolina residents have conditions that contribute to cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in our state. Reducing conditions like hypertension, high cholesterol, smoking, and being overweight or obese is central to this mission.

MAiN

MAiN stands for Managing Abstinence in Newborns. By expanding long-term and complete treatment and recovery support for infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome, we can support a better care process to give these infants a strong start to life.

All women deserve a safe birth experience, and mothers who must suddenly withdraw from opioids face extra complications and pain from the process. MAiN supports these vulnerable women and their infants and guides them through safe treatment, from birth to beyond.
