Published: July 31, 2026

Expanded patient support begins Monday, August 3

AnMed Update

(ANDERSON, S.C. – July 31, 2026 – 6:15 p.m.) — AnMed patients will have the ability beginning Monday, August 3, to ask questions about their appointments and more as the health system responds to this cybersecurity incident.

Patients with any questions for their doctors’ offices may call [Contact information updated; original phone number is no longer active] between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. This phone number replaces the six numbers used previously only to respond to prescription refill requests. Teams will provide the most complete verified information available, not just on prescription refill requests.

The health system is making deliberate and methodical progress in its response to the incident in order to best protect the integrity of information and access. Patient health and safety are guiding principles in the incident response. Federal, state and third-party investigations remain ongoing.

We understand this incident is frustrating, and we regret the impact on our patients. We appreciate the community’s patience as our teams work around the clock to restore full, secure access as quickly and safely as possible.

Frequently asked questions and answers, and current information about openings, service changes and other operational updates can be found at go.anmed.org/latest-updates.

We appreciate the understanding and support of our patients, team members and community partners as we continue working to provide care and restore systems safely.

About AnMed

Founded in 1908, AnMed is an independent, not-for-profit health system serving Upstate South Carolina and northeast Georgia. It is licensed for 648 beds and anchored by AnMed Medical Center, a 495-bed acute-care hospital that’s earned the prestigious Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center since 2012. The system provides a full continuum of care through outpatient services, hospitals and specialty centers, including a heart and vascular center, a comprehensive cancer center, a maternity center, a behavioral health hospital, a rehabilitation hospital, and a growing network of urgent care and therapy locations. Nearly 60 physician practice sites also connect patients to care closer to home.

As the region grows, AnMed continues to invest in new facilities, services and care sites to meet the evolving needs of local residents. The AnMed Piedmont campus and its freestanding emergency department opened in 2025. A new campus serving Clemson and Central is among locations under construction. Practices reach from Anderson and Greenville to Seneca and Hartwell, Georgia. The system has 742 physicians on medical staff and more than 4,000 employees.

It’s home to the MUSC AnMed Clinical Campus, a Family Medicine Residency, Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship and other training programs and partnerships that expand access to advanced care while preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals. Through continued investments in care delivery, workforce development and strategic partnerships, the system strengthens the health, economic vitality and long-term well-being of the region.

AnMed is guided by core values of compassion, innovation, integrity, accountability and collaboration. It was named one of the nation’s “Great Community Hospitals” by Becker’s Hospital Review. Also named among the nation’s 165 top places to work in health care, it was one of three systems in the nation to earn the 2024 Carolyn Boone Lewis Equity of Care Award from the American Hospital Association.
