Restoration work progress and updated patient procedures

(ANDERSON, S.C. – August 3, 2026 – 5:30 p.m.) — As we continue work to restore our systems, our teams remain focused on providing safe, high-quality care.

Patients with questions for their doctors’ offices can call [Contact information updated; original phone number is no longer active.] between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Staff are available to assist with scheduling and appointments, prescription refill requests, and other non-urgent medical concerns.

Due to high call volumes, patients may have difficulty getting through on the phone. In addition, because our teams are using temporary downtime procedures, some requests may take longer than usual to complete, whether by phone or during your visit. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our staff work to assist every patient as quickly as possible.

Beginning Tuesday, August 4, patients with billing questions can contact Customer Service at our Business Office between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, at any of the following numbers:

  • [Contact information updated; original phone number is no longer active.]

Helpful Reminders

  • If you already have a scheduled doctor’s appointment, there is no need to call to confirm it. Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time unless you have been contacted by your care team.
  • Please bring all medications in their original containers to your appointment.
  • To request a prescription refill for a controlled substance (as for pain or ADHD medications) please visit your physician’s office in person. All other refill requests may be made over the phone by calling [contact information updated; original phone number is no longer active] between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday .
  • If you are coming to the lab for testing, you must bring a printed copy of your lab order. Without a printed lab order, we may not be able to complete your lab work.
  • Outpatient imaging locations remain temporarily closed. Patients with existing imaging appointments do not need to call — our staff are contacting affected patients directly to reschedule appointments.
  • Because temporary downtime procedures are in place, some check-in, registration, documentation, and other processes may take longer than usual.
  • If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately. For minor illnesses and injuries, please consider visiting one of our urgent care locations. Visit AnMedUrgentCare.com to find a location near you.

For answers to frequently asked questions, the latest information about service availability and reopenings, and other updates, please visit go.AnMed.org/latest-updates. This page will continue to be updated as additional information becomes available.

We appreciate the patience, understanding and support of our patients, team members and community partners during this time.

About AnMed

Founded in 1908, AnMed is an independent, not-for-profit health system serving Upstate South Carolina and northeast Georgia. It is licensed for 648 beds and anchored by AnMed Medical Center, a 495-bed acute-care hospital that’s earned the prestigious Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center since 2012. The system provides a full continuum of care through outpatient services, hospitals and specialty centers, including a heart and vascular center, a comprehensive cancer center, a maternity center, a behavioral health hospital, a rehabilitation hospital, and a growing network of urgent care and therapy locations. Nearly 60 physician practice sites also connect patients to care closer to home.

As the region grows, AnMed continues to invest in new facilities, services and care sites to meet the evolving needs of local residents. The AnMed Piedmont campus and its freestanding emergency department opened in 2025. A new campus serving Clemson and Central is among locations under construction. Practices reach from Anderson and Greenville to Seneca and Hartwell, Georgia. The system has 742 physicians on medical staff and more than 4,000 employees.

It’s home to the MUSC AnMed Clinical Campus, a Family Medicine Residency, Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship and other training programs and partnerships that expand access to advanced care while preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals. Through continued investments in care delivery, workforce development and strategic partnerships, the system strengthens the health, economic vitality and long-term well-being of the region.

AnMed is guided by core values of compassion, innovation, integrity, accountability and collaboration. It was named one of the nation’s “Great Community Hospitals” by Becker’s Hospital Review. Also named among the nation’s 165 top places to work in health care, it was one of three systems in the nation to earn the 2024 Carolyn Boone Lewis Equity of Care Award from the American Hospital Association.
