(Anderson, S.C. – January 27, 2026) – Two new specialists have joined AnMed as part of the health system’s commitment to providing exceptional, comprehensive cancer care close to home. Dr. Abderrahim Khomani, a medical oncologist, and Dr. Nonna Kolomeyevskya, a gynecologic oncologist, opened AnMed Oncology and Hematology on the third floor of AnMed Cancer Center at the North Campus this month.

The additions represent a significant step forward in meeting the growing needs of the community and reducing barriers to care. Even for patients diagnosed with cancers of the female reproductive system, this means specialized treatment without long trips beyond Anderson or Pickens counties.

Dr. Khomani and Dr. Kolomeyevskya bring years of experience.

What This Means for Patients

Seamless care: Collaboration across oncology, surgery, infusion, radiation therapy, imaging and supportive care will provide a seamless patient experience. Continued partnership with clinical teams throughout and beyond the health system’s employed network provides further support. Patients will have access to their medical records through MyChart, so they can stay connected and coordinated with every member of their care team.

Support beyond treatment: An expanded survivorship program offers ongoing in-person and app-based wellness support to help patients thrive after treatment. Evidence-based support available as patients prefer helps improve outcomes.

Full access to Cancer Center resources: From nurse navigators and oncology counseling to genetic testing, clinical trials and a modern infusion suite, patients will have everything they need under one roof.

  • Nurse navigators, including dedicated registered nurses for breast, gastrointestinal/genitourinary, and lung/head and neck cancers
  • Oncology counselor
  • Oncology dietician
  • Patient resources coordinator to connect patients with financial resources and support
  • Lymphedema and rehabilitation support
  • Clinical trials
  • Genetic counseling
  • Multidisciplinary tumor board, bringing together the combined expertise of a range of specialists to review cases and determine the best treatment plan
  • Spacious, modern infusion suite staffed by oncology-certified nurses with a dedicated pharmacy
  • Impressions Appearance Shoppe, offering a certified mastectomy fitter and a range of products to support patients, like wigs, compression garments and skin care products

Looking Ahead

“Recruiting these specialists is a major milestone in our ongoing effort to invest in cancer care,” said AnMed Chief Operating Officer Scott Weiskittel. “We want to ensure that patients in Anderson and surrounding communities have access to the most advanced treatment without leaving the area. This is about removing barriers and delivering care that’s exceptional, compassionate and comprehensive.”

The expansion positions the health system to continue improvements in care and to keep growing alongside clinical partners.
