(Anderson, S.C. – October 8, 2025) – This summer, Dr. Abhijit Raval became one of the first U.S. physicians to perform a new, minimally invasive procedure for patients with soft tissue lesions—using Aliya® PEF through the INUMI Flex Needle from Galvanize Therapeutics.

Dr. Raval was the first physician in South Carolina to perform the procedure in conjunction with the Ion robot, a state-of-the-art tool that provides extraordinary precision.

This new, minimally invasive procedure can provide hope when frontline options have failed. It ablates soft tissue lesions that arise from tumors and a variety of causes.

It delivers high-voltage, high-frequency electrical currents endoscopically. The PEF energy disrupts the transmembrane potential of the cell, destabilizing the cell and resulting in non-thermal cell death while preserving the surrounding healthy tissue.

“This innovative technique is unlike anything we’ve seen,” said Dr. Raval. “Early clinical studies suggest the potential for releasing antigens that may stimulate an immune response. We’re providing hope to patients who remain refractory to alternative modalities."

“We are excited to be one of the first health care systems to offer this technology.”
