AnMed is launching a new program to provide free, objective health insurance counseling to residents of Anderson, Pickens and Oconee counties.
Made available thanks to a grant from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the program furnishes certified Community Health Insurance Navigators to offer unbiased, professional support to help residents navigate their options for health insurance plans through Medicare, Medicaid or the Health Insurance Marketplace.
The program is being administered by AnMed’s AccessHealth Anderson, a program that serves the uninsured and underinsured. It seeks to simplify the process for exploring and selecting a health insurance plan. Residents of Anderson, Pickens and Oconee counties will receive education on health insurance options, planning for cost and how to maximize needed coverage benefits.
Additionally, residents might also qualify for subsidies to help offset costs.
The program ensures the community has access to certified, knowledgeable professionals who can provide confidential, personalized assistance for a process that can seem overwhelming.
“More local residents with access to health insurance means a healthier community,” said Angelenia Williams, AnMed’s AccessHealth manager. “Everyone deserves high-quality health care. That’s what we all want. Better starts here.”
