Why Patients Should Use MyChart

Published: February 06, 2020

MyChart connects patients and providers with secure, convenient access to health information and care coordination.

(Anderson,  S.C. – February 6, 2020) – Medical providers are encouraging patients to sign up for MyChart. It’s a free, convenient and safe tool for patients and providers to communicate about medical information and appointments.

MyChart is a secure web portal and mobile phone app that gives patients access to their medical information. It also allows patients to set appointments and it gives them the ability to message their health care providers. MyChart also allows patients to track test results, request prescription refills, view summaries from visits and pay a bill.

Both patients and providers benefit from the use of MyChart. MyChart allows for a quick follow up with patients during the workday when it can be inconvenient to call between seeing patients.

In most cases, the provider responds to questions within 48 to 72 hours or less, depending on the provider's schedule and what research is needed in regards to a message.

MyChart provides improved communication between patients and providers, which leads to excellent, more personal care.

In the case of an emergency, patients should always call 911 or get to the Emergency Room.
