In conjunction with AnMed Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and Prisma Blue Ridge Orthopaedics, AnMed is training primary care physicians in the fast growing field of sports medicine.

The program is a fully accredited one-year fellowship that helps provide care for large athletic populations in beautiful upstate South Carolina. By providing care for such a diverse group of athletes, we are able to provide a comprehensive experience in sports medicine.

Local Connections

AnMed fellows assist in the care of the Clemson University athletes. At this prestigious university, fellows gain exposure to Division I college athletics.

Dr. Len Reeves, the team physician at Clemson, is a member of our faculty and an integral part of our fellowship training.

Dr. Larry Bowman, our primary orthopedic surgery faculty, has been Clemson's orthopedic surgeon for 33 years. He is well known and respected nationally.

You will find Clemson has much to offer, and there's nothing like being on the sideline on a fall Saturday afternoon. The fellows also cover the training rooms at NCAA Division II schools Anderson University and Southern Wesleyan University.

Fellows serve as junior faculty for the AnMed Family Medicine Residency Program. Duties include seeing patients one half day per week and precepting residents in the weekly musculoskeletal clinic.

If you like taking care of athletes like we do, the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship could be for you.
