The program begins July 1 annually (the date may be modified if July 1 falls on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) and is 24 months in length. Students are scheduled to attend 40 hours of combined didactic and clinical hours per week. Scheduled times vary each semester, with the 8 hours being scheduled between 5:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. The scheduled hours include both didactic class hours and clinical education hours, with limited didactic classes scheduled on Fridays and no didactic classes scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays.

Year 1

  • Semester Break:  December 20, 2026 – January 2, 2027
  • 2nd Semester: January 3, 2027 – June 30, 2027
  • Holidays:
    • May 31, 2027

Scheduled days off:

  • 5 personal days (may be used as sick days as well)
  • 5 vacation days during summer of first year (second semester prior to August 1)

Year 2

  • 3rd Semester: July 1, 2027 – December 19, 2027
  • Holidays:
    • July 4, 2027
    • September 6, 2027
    • November 25, 2027
  • Semester Break:  December 20, 2027 – January 2, 2028
  • 4th Semester: January 3, 2028 – June 30, 2028
  • Holidays:
    • May 29, 2028
  • Spring Break in 4th semester, following Anderson County School District 5 Calendar.

Scheduled days off:

  • 5 personal days (may be used as sick days as well)
  • 2 or more days for a student seminar if the student chooses to attend the approved seminar.

Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day are designated holidays observed by AnMed.
