Dr. Aaron C. MacDonald is a neurological surgeon at AnMed Spine and Neurosurgery in Anderson, SC with 25 years of experience at AnMed. He grew up in Atlanta and completed his undergraduate studies at Georgia Tech, followed by medical school and a six-year neurosurgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.

Dr. MacDonald was inspired to pursue neurosurgery as a teenager after his father underwent multiple brain surgeries. He specializes in brain, spinal, and peripheral nerve surgery, focusing on minimally invasive techniques to achieve the best outcomes for patients.

Outside of work, he is a devoted family man with three children. He enjoys traveling, water sports, fishing, and hunting in South Carolina. Dr. MacDonald chose AnMed because of its strong commitment to neurosurgery, including a dedicated Neurosurgical ICU, advanced technology, and investment in a comprehensive Neuroscience Department.
