From the Desk of William Kenley

It’s not uncommon to reflect as the year comes to a close…to think about what went right, what went wrong and what you wish you could do again.

And although I know that many are eagerly waiting for a new year and a fresh start, I find myself thinking of the last several months and feeling proud and humbled by the incredible things we made happen for not only AnMed, but for the communities we serve.

Our recent brand rollout marked a significant milestone in our journey, providing an opportunity to look back on everything that the original AnMed brand stood for and everything that we aspire to become as we move forward into an exciting future.

In addition to rolling out our brand, I am looking forward to continuing our culture work and updating our strategic plan in the coming year. It's important these efforts are aligned so that the experience we deliver for our patients matches what we promise and what we say about ourselves.

We’ve made physical changes as a healthcare system, as well, in order to position AnMed as not only thriving in our existing communities, but expanding into where we can best meet our growing area’s needs. Behavioral Health has a new home with expanded services at the North Campus, and soon we will migrate Women’s and Children’s to the Medical Center.

We continue to expand services into new areas, such as Central Family Medicine which opened at the beginning of the year. And, as we will discuss more in the new year,  we have filed just this week an application with the state to expand our presence in the Piedmont/Powdersville community by opening a free-standing emergency department and satellite physicians’ offices.

This will bring a new model of care to this part of the Upstate and will help meet the health care needs for those living in the fastest growing part of our county. We are looking forward to advancing this effort and sharing more information with you in the coming year.

Striving for better means improving the quality of care we provide - constantly reaching for excellence clinically and in terms of the patient experience. Together, with you, we have built on our collective strengths.

By approaching 2022 from a position of strength and with a mindset of how we could better care for our patients, AnMed gave our patients what they needed most: a trusted partner.

Enjoy this time with your friends, family, and other loved ones. I could not be more excited about what is in store for next year, and for the opportunity to work with all of you to make it happen.

I wish you and yours a warm, joyous, and inspired holiday season.
