Brian Johnson, PA, was born in Columbia, South Carolina, and grew up in Asheville, North Carolina. While working in the physical therapy department of a skilled nursing facility, he developed a strong interest in patient care. This experience inspired him to pursue further training, and he went on to graduate from the Physician Assistant program at Kettering College of Medical Arts in Ohio.

During his clinical rotations, he gained experience across North and South Carolina, including time with Dr. Aaron MacDonald at Piedmont Neurosurgery (now AnMed Spine and Neurosurgery). After graduating in 2004, he began working with Dr. MacDonald and has practiced in neurosurgery ever since. In 2015, he joined AnMed and continues to care for patients in the community.

He and his wife, Kristin, have been married for 28 years. They have four children—Katelyn, Paul, Samuel, and Liam—and one granddaughter, Juniper. Family is his greatest joy, and most of his free time is spent with them. Together, they enjoy outdoor activities such as skiing, surfing, golf, disc golf, pickleball, basketball, hiking, and fishing. They also enjoy movies, amusement parks, and attending Clemson sporting events. He and his family are active members of the North Anderson Seventh-day Adventist Church.

With more than 20 years of experience in neurosurgery, he is grateful for the opportunity to serve patients and looks forward to many more years of providing care.
