Eligibility
Employees who satisfy the following criteria are eligible for tuition assistance for educational programs:
- Completion of a minimum of 90 days of full-time or part-time employment and/or upon eligibility for AnMed’s benefit package.
- A “Meets Standards” or above on last annual performance appraisal (if applicable).
- No disciplinary actions within the last 12 months or since employed (if less). If a disciplinary action occurs while using tuition assistance, the individual will not be allowed to use this benefit.
- Successful completion of the required application process.
- Enrollment in an accredited educational institute.
The program of study is required to be offered by a College, University or Professional School accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or one of its affiliated accrediting organizations. Degree programs should be hospital related and provide a grade or pass/fail status.
Coverage
Tuition Assistance will cover costs for:
- Tuition fees
- Laboratory fees, and
- Required textbooks.
Money received from scholarships or grants (lottery, Pell, etc) will not be reimbursed. The payment of approved tuition assistance will be made to employees upon the satisfactory completion (Grade “C” or above in undergraduate degrees and Grade “B” or above in graduate degrees, or “Pass”) of the course/program. The employee must submit a copy of grade reports together with statements/receipts for tuition, books, and fees per term within one month after received.
Reimbursement
Reimbursement limits for degree programs:
- 0.8 to 1.0 FTE’s may receive tuition assistance up to $4,000 per calendar year.
- 0.4 to 0.7 FTE’s (Part-time employees) may receive tuition assistance up to $2,000 per calendar year.
Applying for Assistance
In order to initiate a request for more tuition assistance information, employees can either:
- Search the Employee Portal under Knowledge / Training & Organizational Development / Tuition Assistance Forms

An applicant’s director, HR and Training & Organizational Development are responsible for the administration and approval of the Tuition Assistance Program. Employees must complete an online application at least two weeks prior to the start date of the class.
Continued Employment Requirement
The employee must remain at AnMed at least 12 months after their last reimbursement has been completed. If the employee leaves the organization or reduces hours below a 0.4 FTE before the twelve months are complete, the employee will reimburse AnMed the monies that have been paid. The amount to be repaid will be prorated based on a month to month calculation. If amount is not paid back in full, the employee will be marked as not eligible for rehire.
To the extent that Employee is obligated to repay the tuition reimbursement to AnMed pursuant to the terms of this Agreement, Employee agrees that AnMed shall have the right to deduct the repayment amount from Employee’s paycheck(s) and/or payment of accrued paid days off within the applicable limits established by state and federal laws. If there is any repayment amount due by Employee after all such deductions have been made, Employee agrees that he/she shall be obligated to pay the remaining sum to AnMed within thirty (30) calendar days of the date on which Employee’s termination of employment or reduction in hours is effective.
