Dr. Syed W. Malik is a pulmonary, critical care, and sleep physician at AnMed Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine in Anderson, S.C. He completed medical school and residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, followed by pulmonary, critical care, and sleep training at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Dr. Malik also served as an attending physician at Mayo Clinic before moving to the Carolinas, where he has practiced for over 10 years.
Dr. Malik treats patients in both the hospital and office settings, managing conditions such as COPD, asthma, lung cancer, and sleep disorders. He focuses on improving patients’ quality of life, whether by saving lives in the ICU or enhancing daily functioning for those with chronic conditions.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Malik enjoys hiking, traveling, and exploring different cultures. He also has a personal interest in cosmology and science. He values the family-like environment at AnMed, which he says makes caring for patients more rewarding and sustainable.
